RED FLOWER NOTES
This piece is a visual expression of the emotions and physical sensations experienced during the menstrual cycle. It began as a personal exploration, rooted in notes I took about my own symptoms, gradually evolving into a layered and introspective composition.
The artwork has undergone multiple transformations. Initially, it featured an abstracted shape of a uterus—something I felt was too direct. Painting over it became a symbolic act, reflecting how women are conditioned to suppress their pain, only for this suppression to create deeper internal conflict.
The color palette was carefully chosen to convey the duality of emotions women experience—shifting between intensity and calm, struggle and resilience. Through its layered textures and expressive gestures, this piece captures the silent yet profound reality of a cyclical experience that is often overlooked or dismissed
